But a new Kickstarter, , uses magnets and a bat-inspired flap design to close the bag with one. Just look at this guy wrap himself up like a furry flying mammal.
The setup allows for a variety of configurations, using magnets at different places in the gusset flaps to keep it in place. Get nice and cozy in mummy bag mode, which is good down to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. For more moderate temperatures, a roomy mode gives a little more wiggle room for the top portion. The bag can be unfurled entirely for temperatures above 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Kickstarter is already funded to its goal of $10,000, but pre-orders can still be made through the page. The full sleeping bag costs $399 for early birds, which is the cost of a fairly high end sleeping bag at REI, Cabela's, or any other outdoor outfitter. The expected cost in retail stores is $549. The exterior is made of nylon, while the interior is made of down. , the inventor of the sleeping bag, says on the Kickstarter page that it can retain its warmth range even when wet.
