Four years ago Honda UK set a Guinness Book of Records for driving its Mean Mower 116.575 mph but that record was short-lived, as the following year a Norwegian group hit with their grass cutter. The lawnmower arms race has taken another leap forward as Honda UK has just introduced the Mean Mower V2, which it claims will best the 134 mph mark, and possibly reach 150 mph.
This teaser video opens like the latest Ken Block Gymkhana, replete with ignition and speedo shots, as well as that mean sounding exhaust.
Honda UK teamed up with Team Dynamics to build the Mean Mower V2, which is powered by an SP1 Fireblade engine that has doubled the power from the first gen Mean Mower. The 999cc motor pumps out 190 bhp+ at 13,000 rpm. It's mated to a six gear transmission that can do 90 mph in first. Things get wild when the power-to-weight ratio is close to 1 to 1, as the Mean Mower V2 weighs in at 200kg.
And yes, it really does cut grass.
