Can a Lawnmower Engine Start a Dodge Ram? Sure, Why Not

Because being a truck engine is cooler than being a mower engine.

Combustion engines running on gasoline are among the largest contributors to global warming today. Taken together, cars and trucks count for of America's carbon emissions. But YouTuber has devised a solution.

It may not work for everyone, but installing a lawnmower engine inside a Dodge Ram pickup sure is a cool trick.

Duba is using a on a truck he got for free from a friend, for those playing at home. The truck was in such poor shape when Duba received it that there was a raccoon waiting for him inside.

Duba transformed the entire truck, including the doors and seats. But the lawnmower engine is clearly the biggest innovation here. Duba has added a choke tab and a kill switch to the dash of the truck. To start the vehicle, he pulls a cord near one of the front tires. Then he moves the choke from left to right, waits a little while to warm up, and off he goes.

Because it's so old, the truck still has an analog speedometer. While Duba is unsure of the accuracy, the speedometer says he's gone 20 miles in the truck. "That's pretty good," he says. And you know what? He's right. (But the ride probably has a long way to go to catch up to the Dodge Ram 1500 eTorque.)
