On September 25th, 2017 a single-engine Piper PA-28R-201 airplaneclobbered the tail of a Robinson R22 helicopter while it was trying to land at the Clearwater Air Park in Florida. None of the three people involved—an instructor and student in the helicopter and a lone pilot in the plane—were seriously injured in the incident, a fact that's pretty miraculous when you watch .
According , the crash was caused in part by muddled traffic communications which led both aircraft to wind up on the same runway. Both craft were (obviously) seriously damaged, but that's a small price to pay when you get to walk away.
