Gummies are better with a little char.

A friendly YouTube user known as carsandwater built quite the following by dropping a red-hot nickel ball onto —a block of ice, a watermelon, ballistic gel—to see what happens. In his latest experiment, he moves on to everyone's favorite terrifying substance, thermite.

He drops a 5-pound gummy bear into an old paint tin and fills the rest of the container with an equal amount of thermite. Then he slips in a wick, ignites it, and steps back for the show.

The gummy bear actually fares better than the paint tin, which gets completely incinerated. The bear is charred on the outside, but breaking through the crust with a pair of pliers reveals a semi-liquid green goo on the inside. It really makes you wonder about the wisdom of eating things that can stand up to five pounds of thermite.
