A devastated a remote village in western India Wednesday, triggered by high wind and torrential rain in the area. Currently at least 150 people are trapped and 40 homes have been swept away.
More than 100 rescuers are on the scene, but the continuing rains and dangerous roads have made the efforts difficult and extra support cannot make it through. Alok Avasthy, a National Disaster Response Force commander, has attempted to lead an extra 150 rescuers, but has not been able to make with the original 100 responders.
