Just a few days ago, we wrote about Ventusky, a mesmerizing and gorgeous weather app that debuted this summer. But with the arrival of Hurricane Matthew, the app, which uses color and moving lines to denote the wind patterns and temperatures around the world, has become terribly relevant.
On Ventusky, you can move your cursor to see the speed of wind in various parts of the storm (hint: the closer you get to the epicenter, the faster it is). By pressing play in the lower left corner of the screen, Ventusky will play a projection of the storm's movement up the coast of Florida over the next few hours. The app is addictively fun and beautiful to look at, though what you're seeing here is deadly.
Check out Matthew on Ventusky .
