How to Explain the SpaceX Falcon 9 Using Only Words a Kindergartener Would Understand

Elon Musk's big space truck get a diagram in the spirit of XKCD's Up-Goer-Five.

Taking a cue from Randall Munroe's excellent "" XKCD comic, a Reddit user has given SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket the same treatment.

The original Up-Goer-Five comic used only the 1,000 most common words in the English language to describe the Saturn V rocket that took Apollo astronauts from the Earth to the Moon. Here, reddit user surrender52 describes the module of the "Bird 9" as "Stuff going to space. Can be a bunch of science stuff or the not real flying reptile space car." The first stage rocket is called the "9 places where fire comes out. These should point towards the ground or it will not go to space."

SpaceX seemed to dig the image, tweeting the picture out to the world:

Ah yes, the “Bird 9”. Meet our rocket:

Fly on, Bird 9. Fly on.
