Land Lines Turns Any Line You Draw Into a Map

Between the in orbit, we've garnered a pretty crystal-clear picture of what Earth looks like on the surface. While some could look at that fact and despair that there's so little left to discover, it's worth noting that you can still discover all these places yourself. It's a point that hits home in a fun little program called .

Using a combination of and , and made a tool that recognizes any line you draw as a line on some map somewhere in the world. Just use your cursor to draw any shape you can manage and Land Lines will match it up to a real-world map. There's also a "Drag" option, which allows the user to follow an endless road spanning continents, following curves and patterns across the globe from one map to another.

Based on my ten minutes worth of play, it has a slight over-reliance on Florida's beaches for straight lines, but don't let that stop you. Land Lines doesn't stop at the land either, with the ripples in the water from boats also popping up from time to time. The Drag option is particularly engaging, jumping from America to Abu Dhabi to Thailand to Brazil in mere moments.
