Alexa and her pals can tell you the weather. They can recite your schedule or call up a song. One thing they definitely can't do is pour you a tall glass of bourbon at the end of a hard day.
Well, now there's "," a device Jim Beam calls "the latest in cutting-edge bourbon technology." The little box contains the voice of master distiller Fred Noe, and it will pour a shot of beam when you ask it for one. And that's it. What else do you really need?
Jim is certainly a joke on the tech world's current obsession with smart speakers and voice assistants. But it is indeed a real item, and you can buy this talking bourbon decanter for $35 (though the first run has already sold out). Let's hope they start another production run, because I'm seriously considering one for the PopMech office.
