Counting steps in metabolic equivalent levels now comes without your usual price shock with Casio’s new G-Shock GBD800 trainer watch.

Releasing this October for just $100, the new watch is part of the company’s Men’s Power Training Series, and these black/red and black/neon green wrist computers now come with Bluetooth connectivity to pair with a G-Shock app and increase your training know-how.

Already known for its rugged looked and ability to handle extreme environments, the GBD800 was geared toward athletes and active lifestyles with a step tracker function that breaks down daily steps taken in five metabolic equivalent levels, displayed via a graph in the app and across the digital face of the watch.

The watch also has classic elements of a training watch with a work-out timer with five intervals, an updated digital display that includes multiple readouts to track fitness — from the step graph to lap number and workout time to total steps. The watch includes LED illumination, 200-record memory, a target alarm, daily alarms, a stopwatch, countdown timers, dual timers and auto time updating.

G-Shock has evolved into a digital training watch since releasing in Japan in 1983, but has retained the original mantra of a robust design. The construction of the watch uses urethane to protect the timepiece and suspends timekeeping modules inside the structure to prevent the watch from suffering direct shock.

Since 1983, the concept was designed to handle electric shock, gravity stress, low temperatures, vibration, water and extreme wear, and that hardware formula's only been improved in the last 35 years.
