Domino's Is Fi Potholes Because They're Ruining Pizza

"Paving for pizza" is a good advertising gimmick, and the sign of a sad state of infrastructural affairs.

America’s infrastructure is in a sorry state. Bridges are crumbling, airports and seaports are falling into disrepair, and our roads are covered in potholes. This sucks for everyone, but especially Domino’s, which is so tired of potholes ruining its pizzas that it has .

The pizza chain said in a press release that it’s tired of potholes ruining “great-tasting pizza,” so it’s begun repairing these potholes in a handful of American towns. Already, the company has filled potholes in Bartonville, Texas; Milford, Delaware; Athens, Georgia; and Burbank, California.

Domino’s is also asking its customers to vote on which town to repair potholes in next. Customers can submit requests to pave their town’s potholes at Domino’s new pothole-related website. Any potholes repaired by this project will be emblazoned with the Domino’s logo and slogan.

This initiative is undeniably good for the towns where Domino's shows up. But the fact that a private company has to repair roads is a delicious indictment of the country’s infrastructure problems. Unless Domino’s wants to repair all the nation’s roads and bridges, we need to find a better solution than this.
